2017 And We All Grow Old
Evangelho Vineyard, Contra Costa County - $45
72% Carignane and 28% Mataro. A stunning ruby red color, this wine exudes gorgeous aromas of cherry, licorice, spices and dark florals along with tart black raspberry. Cherry, fresh currants, boysenberry, and black-plum-skin flavors meet with white pepper and lavender touches. The very expressive concentration of fruit mixes with bright flavors of medium acid and dusty tannins.
2018 LeVois Zinfandel, Dry Creek Valley - $50
Aromas of ripe red fruits — raspberries, strawberries, cherries — mix with light baking spice notes. On the palate, flavors of raspberry jelly, pomegranate juice, and white pepper delight with a layered mouthfeel. This wine is lighter in body, but don't mistake that for weakness. You'll find exquisite flavors packed into each sip with an excellent, long and smooth finish. An exquisite example of Zinfandel from the valley that put this varietal on the map.
2018 Bacigalupi Zinfandel, Russian River Valley - $50
Bacigalupi is consistently a crowd pleaser and one of our personal favorites. The 2018 vintage is no exception with a concentration of fruit that is simply mind-blowing. You'll get notes of homemade preserves mixed with subtle hints of rich spices. This wine, with its intense fruit and complex structure, could age beautifully if you can keep your hands off it.
2017 Vyborny Mixed Blacks
Oak Glade, Napa Valley - $75
A lovely deep purple in the glass this wine elicits enticing aromas of blackberry, plum, molasses, and cigar box. On the palate, a strong tannic structure and tons of dark fruit notes create a bold structure with layers of complexity. Currant and plum flavors mix with a delightful blackberry cobbler finish. Intense yet elegant. Powerful yet approachable. A classic California beauty.
