2021 Bacigalupi Zinfandel – Russian River Valley

Helen and Charles Bacigalupi started farming their precious old vine grapes in the Russian River Valley in 1956. The Bacigalupis were about 50 years ahead of the sustainable agriculture movement, avoiding chemicals and tilling and then training vines as high as four feet above the ground to improve air circulation. Zin from this vineyard is rare, natural, and absolutely perfect. We think you’ll agree.
The 2021 Bacigalupi Zinfandel is vibrant, polished, and full of character, showcasing the elegance of this famed Russian River Valley site. The nose is fresh and inviting with layers of red cherry, wild strawberry, toasty vanilla, plum, and a touch of sage. On the palate, there’s a bright, energetic lift that gives way to ripe strawberry, cranberry compote, and softly ripened red stone fruit. A thread of zesty acidity keeps things lively, while hints of French oak and subtle spice add depth and a long, satisfying finish. It’s easy-drinking with a refined edge—Zinfandel with both brightness and soul.
